We're open to all kinds of work. Please send us your best poetry, translations, fiction, creative nonfiction, lyric essays, graphic short stories and essays, comic strips, photographs, paintings, miscellaneous artwork, book reviews, etc. If you think we’ve left something out, please query us.
Submissions are accepted only via Submishmash. Email and snail mail submissions will be discarded without comment. We do not publish previously published materials. We accept simultaneous submissions but please inform us immediately if a submission is taken elsewhere.
Our response time averages 2-4 months. Please do not query until 4 months have passed.
Poetry Submission
• Please send no more than five poems (up to ten pages in total).• Poems must be submitted as one file, with each poem beginning on a new page.
• Please only submit as Word (.doc/.docx) or RTF (.rtf) files.
Translation Submissions
• All translations should be accompanied by a copy of the original text.• Please ensure permissions have been obtained from the author, publisher, etc.

Fiction Submission
Size limit: 1,000 to 5,000 Words
• Please submit short fiction of up to 5,000 words, Query first for longer works.• Submit only one fiction submission at a time and please wait until you hear back before submitting again.
• Novel excerpts only if it stands alone as a short story.
• Prose should be double-spaced and in 12-point font (easier for us to read that way).
• Please only submit as Word (.doc/.docx) or RTF (.rtf) files.

Flash Fiction Submission
Size limit: Less than 1,000 words
• We will consider flash fiction of no more than 1,000 words.• Submit up to three flash submissions at a time, no more than 3,000 words total, all in the same document.

Creative Nonfiction

Graphic Narrative
• We consider one graphic short-story or graphic essay or up to three comic strips (combine into one doc).• Please limit submission to under 25 pages. (Query first for longer works.)
• Submit only one submission at a time and please wait until you hear back from us before submitting again.
• For longer works (more than 5 pages) please submit as a Word (.doc/.docx) or PDF.
• For 5 pages or less a JPG series is ok.
• Please only submit as Word (.doc/.docx) or PDF or JPG.
Book Reviews
Size limit: 1,000 words
